Norway Directorate for Higher Education Scholarships: Students from Russia who are interested in the Norway Directorate for Higher Education Scholarships to study for a semester or two can apply for the Norwegian Russian Scholarships for the 2022-2023 academic year. The opportunity is wholly sponsored by the Directorate for Higher Education and Skills in Norway.

Out of the 30 scholarships that will be accepted by the Directorate for Higher Education and Skills, 15 of which must be within Norwegian language and literature, and the other 15 will be accepted within other subjects. Tuition fees and other expenses will be covered under the Norway Directorate for Higher Education Scholarships for Russian national students.

The Directorate for Higher Education and Skills is a result of the unification of the Norwegian Agency for International Cooperation and Quality Enhancement in Higher Education (Diku), Skills Norway, and Universal, as well as parts of Unit and the Norwegian Centre for Research Data (NSD).

The Directorate for Higher Education and Skills was founded under the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research on the 1st of July 2021. It is a Norwegian Agency for International Cooperation and Quality Enhancement in Higher Education.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Students can apply at UiT The Arctic University of Norway, University of Bergen, Molde University College for any higher degree programme  – Specialized University in Logistics, Nord University, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, University of South-Eastern Norway, University of Stavanger, or Volda University College.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:

Application Procedure

  • How to Apply for the Norway Directorate for Higher Education Scholarships: Students can submit their online applications via the designated application portal and also make admission applications to an eligible institution. All eligible students will be assessed automatically.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to submit the following documents to the university:
  • Upper secondary/high school certificate or transcript of records
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree diploma and transcripts of records or equivalent
  • All documents must be submitted in English or Scandinavian, in PDF format.
  • Admission Requirements: Students must meet the entry and admission requirements of the university they wish to be admitted to.
  • Language Requirement: The students are required to provide proof of proficiency in English and Norwegian by submitting results of IELTS or TOFEL or Norskprøvenor Test I Norsk, etc.

Benefits

The Norway Directorate for Higher Education Scholarships will provide the following benefits to the selected students:

  • Selected students will be paid tuition fees, except for a semester fee of approximately 600 Norwegian kroner.
  • Selected students will receive a monthly grant equivalent to the rate for Norwegian students at the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund (“Lånekassen”). For the academic year 2022-2023, this will be around 11 450 Norwegian kroner per month (this rate might be raised by 2% in accordance with Lånekassen’s annual price adjustment).
  • Selected students will normally be offered student accommodation, for which they pay the rent out of their grant, usually between 2 500 and 4 500 Norwegian kroner monthly.
