Why did many candidates fail JAMB 2020? A close look at predictions I made earlier.
You won’t want yourself or anyone you know to fail the JAMB examinations and that’s why you need to read this till the end and share with anyone you care about…
Some have also asked, “how many people passed and failed their JAMB exam in 2019?” A good number we would say.
Since the Joint Admissions And Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination became a prerequisite for entrance into various universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education, there are various factors that could determine one’s success or failure in undergoing the test.
Soon, JAMB registration for the year will commence, to enable thousands of Nigerian access to test and confirm their eligibility to sit for the Post UTME screening exercise for schools of their choice.
In this article, I will be doing a prediction or pointing out reasons you will fail in your JAMB exams.
I can’t be too bad to wish everyone going for JAMB to fail, but I’m good enough to show you factors if ignored, will make you record failure.
Take advantage of these factors and make sure you’re not guilty of any, then success is yours in the upcoming examination.
Why do people fail JAMB?
People fail JAMB for so many reasons which include the following core factors below:
1. Sleeping while reading
So many students are hard-working, these are students who set a goal to score high in the upcoming JAMB examinations, but unfortunately, they can’t win the battle with sleep.
A few weeks ago, I wasn’t blogging and I had less or totally nothing doing in school then I decided to visit some libraries in the state where I was able to converse with some of the JAMBITES (People preparing for JAMB exams).
During my discussions with some of them, I was also able to learn that many sleep while reading and find, ’s it difficult to also read at night.
I can feel how serious they are in their studies, but sleep happens to be a natural phenomenon and I shared a reading secret with them on how to read without feeling sleepy.
2. Not Knowing the Use of JAMB Syllabus
Many people going for JAMB could be seen studying seriously but one might ask, do they study with guides?
The JAMB syllabus has and will always remain a useful guide to candidates who want to study and score high grades in JAMB.
When you study without scheme or syllabus, you probably could be wasting your time studying the irrelevant.
Study completely all that is in the syllabus, then you can extend both outside the box having in mind that question can come from anywhere.
3. “I have enough time” feeling
The feeling that the JAMB 2020 exam date isn’t yet near and that you have got all the time to start reading tomorrow and not today, then you are procrastinating and failure isn’t far from you.
I recommend every candidate to start getting ready for the JAMB examination as soon as possible, on a more serious note “earlier enough”.
You have a lot to read, and to cover all that is required of you to make your papers in the JAMB exam, you will have no option than to start on time.
The earlier the better.
4. Lack of computer literacy skill
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is known for the Implementation of technologies to make sure candidates write their exams with ease and to curb or eradicate in entirety examination malpractices.
It is unfortunate to learn that majority of the students who sat for JAMB are computer illiterate, this, however, contributes to the high percentage of failure among students in JAMB exam.
If you are going for the upcoming JAMB examination, it is in your own interest to enrol for computer training at any nearby computer centre so to at least have the basics of a computer system and how to make use of it in writing JAMB.
I understand you might have tight schedules, going from school to extra classes for JAMB and also helping your parents at home. Yet you can ask the computer centre to enrol you for only JAMB CBT TRAINING (JAMB Computer Base Test Training) this usually takes less than one month to practice and learn.
Yes, you have studied all your book, eh he? But you don’t know how to make use of the computer to write JAMB. Your own has finished.
You will be intimidated by how to hold the computer mouse, and how to even enter your JAMB registration number to start the exam.
5. Lack of proper time management (Time is of the essence)
Writing JAMB is sweet, how fast time runs is the other way round for candidates who don’t play by the rule of time.
Apart from writing JAMB examination, every other thing we do has a limit, we are expected to start and stop or complete a phase within some time.
This is not the time of paper and pencil, it is all computer-based test and you know what? The computer has no emotion, once the allocated time elapses, it submits for you and will automatically log you out.
The computer no wan know whether you dey cry or not.
Majority of the candidates that will fail JAMB are candidates who are very reluctant about time, they could be cut off on time when they have only completed few subjects maybe 2/4 or 3/4 and how sure are they about the ones they attempted.
To skip this, you have to know that time and your accuracy are determinants in helping you score 250 and above in JAMB.
6. Searching for JAMB miracle centres
There’s nothing like JAMB miracle centre!
The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has set measures to ensure that every JAMB CBT centre across the nation is all eligible to conduct the test and trustworthy not to indulge in JAMB malpractices or encourage any agent or candidate to do so.
Do not be deceived, do not listen to people promising you help to register you in a Miracle centre so you can write JAMB and score 350.
They are all interested in your money and will do nothing at last, but why would you pay someone to do such a thing for you? Don’t mind me, I know you reading this point might not be guilty of such in your thoughts, but if at all you’re, erase it at this point onward.
7. Giving money for cheat supply during JAMB exam
Some students who didn’t study their books will tend to give money to some corrupt JAMB technical unit officers to assist in supplying answers to them during exams.
That he can help you boot your system or fix technical issues, doesn’t qualify him to be an expert in solving mathematics or any other subject you are having difficulties in.
These wicked persons will also collect your money and feed you with garbage, then your mind is settled that you have got it all only to find out you failed when the 2020 JAMB result will be out.
8. JAMB result upgrade
Ever seen people say “I want to upgrade my JAMB score” or even see some asking “how can I upgrade my JAMB score?” to be honest with you, I have seen many of them…
It is unfortunate that the majority of the students going for JAMB still think that there’s anything called “JAMB RESULT UPGRADE”. This is more of the reasons they won’t study hard and now tell me what is expected of them other than failure, when they will find out there’s no such thing like upgrading up JAMB result.
9. JAMB Impersonation
Several cases of people being caught as impersonators during JAMB examinations is never a thing to write home about.
Some students who refused to read their books will also resort to paying someone else to impersonate and write JAMB exam on their behalf when such person is caught by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, they will be dealt with and their JAMB result withheld. What a failure?
Do not fall a victim of JAMB examination impersonation.
10. Power Failure during JAMB exam
This is on the side of CBT centres
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) despite all efforts put in place to make sure that Computer-Based Centers in the country are capable to carry out the JAMB screening test, it could also be seen that some centres still have the failure in power supply which could also happen while an exam is in progress.
The JAMB exam software runs on the server-side and when the candidate’s system is shut down due to power failure, the exam time keeps running on the server, which if restoring power takes time than expected, the student’s performances will be affected including the frustrations that usually comes along with such experience.
At this point, we wish to call the attention of JAMB and all the CBT centres participating in the upcoming JAMB exam to take this into consideration and employ means to avoid power failure or system break down during JAMB examinations.
11. Coming late to the exam
Nothing is as annoying as finding out that a candidate who is to sit for JAMB exam doesn’t know his/her exam centre and time of the exam.
One of the major reasons while students will fail the 2020 JAMB exam, is coming to the CBT centre late, and this could be as a result of not knowing where the exam centre is located and the distance to cover before getting there.
After a successful JAMB registration, students can begin to reprint their JAMB examination slips to know the date, time and venue for exams in order not to miss or appear late for JAMB examinations.
I recommend you visit your JAMB centre a day before your exact JAMB examination date especially if the examination centre is far from your house.
12. JAMB exam fever (Fear)
This is a general when it comes to the reasons why many students fail JAMB exams, some go into the exam hall with fear, and before you know it, vaaaaam! you have forgotten all you studied due to fear.
Fear alone can make you fail JAMB exams, so you have to wipe away the feeling that JAMB is hard and this is your first sitting in JAMB. Be courageous to write and pass.
If you don’t want to fail the 2020 JAMB, you have to, first of all, kill fear. Exam fear can make you score low in JAMB.
At this point, I believe I’m able to show you reasons while so many students will fail JAMB in 2020. Lucky enough you’re for reading this.
Share also with friends you would want to score 250 and above in JAMB 2020 so they can take advantage of this useful guide.
I wish you success, you won’t fail after making sure you’re not guilty of any of the points mentioned in this post.
